Tell us a little bit about what you do here at Orderfox:

My mission at Orderfox is to work together with other engineers to turn the ideas of our product managers into a reality. On a more specific level, I am specialized on what we call the front-end of Orderfox, what you can see and interact with directly. It is my goal to try to provide the best user experience that we can while using Orderfox and allowing the users to do what all they need to do.

What is a typical day at Orderfox like for you?

It always starts with what in Scrum, a working methodology, we call a stand-up. Essentially it’s a very short, focused meeting where all the team members synchronize on what they’re working on, what they will work on and surface any problems that might impact the timeline for delivering the new features. After that I will start programming what we agreed I will be working on according to the plan and coordinate with project managers and our designer to lay the groundwork for what’s coming next. At lunch we usually like to go all together as a team and most of the days we entertain ourselves at the table-soccer for a couple of games. The rest of the day will be very much similar to the morning until the time to go home.

How long have you worked for Orderfox?

I’ve been at Orderfox for about a year and 3 months.

What’s your favourite part about working for Orderfox?

The people, no doubt about it. The amount of human quality in this company is out of this world. If you have any questions you can talk with anyone, from top to bottom, and they will be open to help you as fast as they can. Not to mention the great after-work and àperos that we enjoy together while having some good fun!

What challenges do you face and how do you deal with these?

In my portion of the work, the biggest challenges that I face are mostly related to having to balance quality of code, quality of experience for the user and delivery time. These three aspects are distributed in a triangle and usually you have to sacrifice one of the three to have the other two, so we’re constantly adjusting to try our best to sacrifice as little as possible from all three. At the end of the day, we all want to feel proud of what we put out in the world.

What makes working at Orderfox special for you?

As teased in a previous question, the people. I’ve always been a big proponent of the importance of teamwork. For me no matter what problem or challenge you might encounter, if you have a good team you will find a successful solution.

If you could sum up the culture at Orderfox into 3 words what would they be?

Humanity meets business.

What are you looking forward to accomplishing at Orderfox?

One of my drivers as an engineer has always been trying to make people’s lives easier so they can concentrate on what’s important for them. Our next generation of product is striving very hard in that direction and I am very excited to be able to bring it to the hands of our customers.

What do you like to do in your spare time? What hobbies do you have?

I generally enjoy group activities, one of my main hobbies is table-top RPG. I also play video games, read, watch movies/tv shows and I am trying to hook back to some dancing.‍
